This preliminary project, developed with a contractor and Studio Imperadori for structures, aims to define a new connection in Boario Terme between via Manifattura and the area known as “L’Isola”, on the left bank of Oglio River.

The new bridge, carriageable but also cycle and pedestrian with dedicated lanes, has a corten steel structure with parallel beams and upper plate in composite casting. Considering the proximity of several high point of view (Monticolo, archeological areas in Crape di Luine, Gorzone) the chosen drawing evokes an arrow or a dagger “camuno”, similar to those visible and sampled on rocks of Simona stone in Luine area, from where the bridge is clearly visible.

The line of the “arrow” (“freccia”) gives dynamism to the bridge crossing it, looking at it from below, from the riverbed where many fishermen go, or from the bank. From the bridge it is possible to have a direct relation with the soaring medieval historical bridge of Montecchio, next hamlet, with a mutual dialectical view between two arch bridges made with different technologies: stones and ashlars in the first, steel in the second one.

Along the bridge there are benches and panoramic areas with glazed parapets to turn into a spectacle rest and meditation zones towards the valley and the river.

From above, from archeological areas in Luine, it is possible to cover with the view the whole island and see the pedestrian bars hanging bridge (work of Gian Pietro imperadori) connecting Corna hamlet and the carriageable bridge leading to Darfo.
