A typical 19th century Milanese court, with traditional case di ringhiera opens up the design opportunity for resolving the accessibility plans and for the elimination of architectural barriers.
Two elevators are placed in correspondence of the existing stairs which serve the various apartments: one finds space within the horn of stairs, while the other, near the main access to the backyard, must necessarily be realized outside due to lack of space. The transparent volume, with supporting frames that chromatically reflect the dark brown metal railings of the balconies, fits seamlessly and does not alter the unitary perception of the historical court.
To reduce the impact extra clear glass were selected. All new metallic parts are made of steel dark brown painted or satin stainless steel.
